THE BORO' CAN RECOVER
YOU can make a difference
Dear Voiceover Panel Member,
I would like to invite you to the next meeting of the Middlesbrough Partnership Forum to be held on:
Tuesday 13 December 2011
9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Middlesbrough Teaching and Learning Centre (Cargo Fleet Lane - select here for map)
(Registration - 9.00 am onwards. Lunch will not be provided)
Many community members will be aware and concerned about the negative impact drug or alcohol misuse can have on their community but may not be aware that they can directly impact on an individual's progress through treatment.
This conference, organised in conjunction with The Safer Middlesbrough Partnership, is to share with you as community members (or as professionals/volunteers working in communities) ways of how you can help make a difference in your community and support those that are successfully leaving drug and alcohol treatment services each year.
For example:
- Challenging negative language/ behaviour towards those in Recovery
- Supporting those who are in Recovery to develop new social circles/ new interests
- Understand the issues faced by a person in Recovery
- Supporting people into employment or volunteering within your organisation
- Your own ideas around how you can support your community in Recovery
- Identify and utilise the many strengths within our local communities
Those in Recovery still face a range of difficulties when trying to integrate with their local community or access employment. The more success we have in treating people the more benefits there are for local communities, so it is essential you get involved.
Each and every member of a community has a vital role in supporting recovery, and every one of us impacts on a person's recovery, so please come along and play your part.
