Consultation Reason:
The aims of the Voiceover Panel are to: *Provide a vehicle for the expression of local community opinion in response to central government encouragement for all local authorities to engage more effectively with local people. *To give local residents the potential to influence decision making and improve service delivery *To consult residents on a range of strategic and service based issues. *To establish baseline perception information then track changes in views and priorities over time *To access local opinion in a cost effective manner.

Feedback methods:
The results of the surveys are analysed and results forwarded to the relevant council service areas and external partners such as the Police, Fire Service etc. A report highlighting the key findings is circulated to senior council officers and elected members. Panel members are kept informed of the results of the surveys via a newsletter. The latest newsletters can be found in the Result files tab.

Consultation Reason:
The Middlesbrough Neighbourhood survey explores residents perceptions about the quality of life and service delivery in Middlesbrough. The survey consolidates a variety of survey needs for the Council and other partner organisations, providing better value for money and reducing community consultation fatigue.
Consultation Method:
The Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Survey is a face-to-face survey of over 2000 Middlesbrough residents over the age of 16 years.

Consultation Reason:
The Place Survey is a new consultation that all local authorities are required to carry out every two years.. The Place Survey was devised by central government and replaces the Best Value Performance Indicator Survey (BVPI) carried out in 2000, 2003 and 2006.
Consultation Method:
A random sample of 6000 Middlesbrough residents received a questionnaire.(September – December 08) The sample was taken from the Post Office Address File (PAF). The questionnaire consisted of 12 pages and took approximatley 15 minutes to complete.
